She received her Master of Social Work from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC in 2004. She received specialized training in mental health for children and adolescents, adults, and the geriatric population. She completed two practicums while obtaining her master's degree. She worked with juvenile sex offenders at the SC Department of Juvenile Justice. She is in the process of getting certified nationally for Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of SC (license# C008352), NC (license# 10294), and Ga (CSW004812). She is a Certified Sex Offender Treatment Provider, a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist and a Certified Clinical Supervisor.
Experience
She has specialized training in helping those suffering with depression, trauma, anxiety, and emotion regulation. She also has experience in child protective services and working with the homeless population. She has extensive experience with working with those in crisis situations, those who struggle with self-injury and suicidal ideation. She has worked as an outpatient mental health therapist for a large agency, a clinical consultant in multiple hospital emergency departments, delivered services as a mobile crisis clinician in the community, hospitals and jail systems. She has counseled individuals, couples, families and groups. Her passion is clinical work and assisting others better understand themselves, their individual challenges and those around them in order to live a productive life; however, each individual may define this for themselves. She also provides clinical training and supervision to clinicians who are working on their clinical licensure for social work and substance abuse or who are in need of guidance when working with clients.
